Depiction of the Vancouver Island sighting

While trying to take a picture of a mountain near the Eve River, north of Kelsey Bay, Vancouver Island, with a cloud behind it resembled Mt. St. Helens erupting, neither Mr. or Mrs. Roberts initially noticed anything unusual about the scene until after the film was developed. A peculiar object appeared in the photograph. The photo was examined by Dr. Richard F. Haines who could not find any evidence of a hoax. To this very day, the picture has baffled experts and can not be fully explained.
