Zamora was on patrol as a policeman at 5:45 p.m. on
April 24, 1964 when he heard a roar and saw flames in
the sky. He knew there was a small wooden building nearby
where dynamite was stored and he thought it had exploded.
He then turned onto a dirt road that led over a ridge
to the storage building. At this point, he could see
the flames and they were not coming from the building.
The fire was in the sky slowly |

descending towards the ground. The fire touched ground
and extinguished itself revealing a shiny metallic
oval object sitting on legs. Officer Zamora was only
300-600 ft. away from the strange craft and he observed
two people in white coveralls emerge from the ship
and walk around outside. One of these persons seemingly
saw Zamora's car and seemed startled by it. Zamora
described the beings as "normal but maybe small
adults or large kids". He radioed Sgt. Sam Chavez
in Socorro and approached the craft on foot. Zamora
got within 100 ft. of the UFO

and noted that it was oval-shaped and very smooth, with
no windows of doors. It was supported by girder-like
legs; Zamora also noticed a red insignia on the side
of the UFO. The roar began to sound off again, at first
at a low frequency, but rising rapidly and becoming
very loud. The object began emitting flames again and
kicked up dust. Zamora could no longer see the two people
who were outside the craft, so he assumed they had reentered
it somehow. The shaken officer observed the ship fly
away at about 10-15 ft. off the ground. It was no longer
emitting noise or flames and it suddenly rose up and
sped away at a very fast speed. |
